Uncertainty of Back to School

Pretty Caucasian woman at the beach smiling at camera.

Back to school is looking a lot different this year for most of us.

Stress in children can show up as anxiety, low mood, poor concentration, trouble sleeping and low appetite.

If you or your children are struggling with the change please reach out.  We can discuss strategies to support your nervous system which can improve stress coping.

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.

Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.

School Lunches

What makes a good lunch box?

Personally I like something that is lightweight and has a lot of compartments.

Looking local? Purdy Natural and Reimagine Co have some great options. I love planet box and heard Reimagine Co just started to carry them!!

What to put in your lunch box?

Try to incorporate a protein, carbohydrate, fruit and vegetable.

This family meal toolkit- lunch edition by feeding littles is a great guideline.

If you or your children have food sensitivities this chart from nourishing meals provides some low allergen lunch ideas.

Connect with me if you have any nutrition questions.  I love talking to kids about what a healthy diet looks like!

Immune Support

It is a great time of year to build up our immune systems to prepare for cold and flu season. Here are some strategies to consider:

1- Healthy Diet-  Focus on eating whole foods and limiting sugar.

2- Multivitamin- A good quality multivitamin can help fill in the gaps from our diet.

3- Probiotic– A healthy gut has a positive effect on our immune system.

4- Vitamin D– Low vitamin D status is associated with increased susceptibility to infections.

There are lots of other great nutrients to consider.  Book an appointment to see what is right for you and your family.
